Vladimir D. VARDANYAN
Dr. Vladimir D. Vardanyan is the Advisor of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Armenia.
He has joined the Staff of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Armenia as a senior expert of Legal Advisory Service in May 2003. Vladimir D. Vardanyan held the position of the Head of International Treaties Department of the Staff of the Constitutional Court from April 2006 to May 2013. Vladimir D. Vardanyan held position of the Head of Legal Advisory Service of the Constitutional Court of Republic of Armenia from 2013 to 2016.
Dr. Vladimir D. Vardanyan has written and lectured on legal topics relating to International legal aspects of genocide and crimes against humanity, International Humanitarian Law, International Criminal Law and International Human Rights Law. He is author of more than 30 scientific papers dedicated to several aspects of Public International Law.
Vladimir D. Vardanyan is coordinator of “Armenian Genocide Legal Research Centre” of the Pan-Armenian Conference of Lawyers, member of the International Association of Genocide Scholars, the International Society for Military Law and the Law of War, co-founder of International and Comparative Law Center of Armenia (ICLaw), Member of the Editorial boards of “the Armenian Yearbook of International and Comparative Law”, All-Russian Scientific-Practical Journal “Pravovaya Iniciativa” (Legal Initiative), Member of the International Board of Review of “the Belarusian Yearbook of International Law“. Vladimir D. Vardanyan was a Peer reviewer (for Armenia) of the 2016 ICRC Commentary of the 1949 First Geneva Convention
He earned his PhD in Public International Law in 2005 (“International Legal Basis of State Responsibility for Genocide”), his Master’s and Bachelor’s Degrees in Law in 2002 and 2000, accordingly, from the Yerevan State University.
